Is the idea of journeying on psychedelics by yourself interesting to you? Does the thought of consuming them with others make you nervous? You’re not alone. People like tripping solo for a number of reasons, including diving deeper within yourself and emoting more freely. You might come out of it feeling raw, but also triumphant, like you’ve been on a heroic journey and made it through using only your inner strength. It can remind you that you have the ability to take care of yourself and that the answers you’re looking for are within you.

But it can also be extremely challenging. There’s also a ton of preparation that one must do beforehand to ensure that you’re safe and set up to have the experience your soul needs. In this workshop Mikaela de la Myco will talk to us about the benefits and challenges of consuming mushrooms alone, and tips on how to do so safely.

More About Mikaela de la Myco

Mikaela de la Myco comes from a blended ancestry. Her ancestors come from southern Italy, the Caribbean, and Mexico, and she uplifts their perspectives in the space of entheogens.

In her everyday life, Mikaela serves as a mother, an educator, a folk herbalist, a community organizer and entheogen facilitator in occupied Kumeyaay & Luiseno territory, also known as San Diego, CA.

She applies her gifts in ancestral healing ways by supporting cooperatives, caretaking survivors in her work with MA’AT, educating in polyamorous and extended family structures, administrating certification courses like ECO Sensual, the Herbal & Trauma-Informed Advocacy Certification, conducting and presenting citizen science research for Mothers of the Mushroom, and tending to people in need of full-spectrum herbal womb care.  She has collaborated as an educator and activist with many companies and organizations within the sacred earth medicine space and is well-known as a maternal caretaker in the community.

Her platforms, Mama de la Myco and the mushWOMB generate educational content that weaves the tapestry of medicine woman, psychedelic mother, and sacred hoe. In all her creations, Mikaela de la Myco has made the commitment to be an instrument of change in the struggle to re-matriate entheogens.
