Seth Lorinczi

Seth Lorinczi is a writer, a journalist, and a cook. Having grown up in the Washington, D.C. punk scene of the ‘80s and ‘90s, he migrated west and began a career as a food writer and musician. After working with Modest Mouse, Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney and other artists, he wrote “Death Trip: A Post-Holocaust Psychedelic Memoir.” Due May 21, 2024, the book leapfrogs from Portland’s ayahuasca basements to the darkest days of World War II. A marriage story, a search for meaning in the wake of the Holocaust, and a bid to release the weight of ancestral trauma, “Death Trip” is about facing the past in order to make sense of the present. Thus far, Lorinczi has presented at Yale University, the Oregon Jewish Museum and Holocaust Education Center, and other venues. He was also a co-founder of Judaism & The Psychedelic Renaissance, a first-of-its-kind live event. These days, Lorinczi lives in Portland with his wife, his daughter, and their two derpy dogs.
