Erin Hiatt

Erin Hiatt is a New York City-based writer and journalist who began covering hemp and cannabis for Hemp Connoisseur Magazine in 2013, whose portfolio expanded to include psychedelics in 2015. Other areas of interest are the opioid crisis, synthetic cannabinoids, public land-use issues, and Latter-Day Saints and their intersection with substances like cannabis, ketamine, and psychedelics. Splitting her childhood between Southern California and Utah, Erin was a child performer who graduated from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah with a bachelor's degree in musical theatre performance. During her decades-long performance career, writing became the side hustle that stuck. Erin loves the conversations - some tetchy, some delightful -  that come with putting the work together. Some “greatest hits” interviews include Dr. James Fadiman, author Tom Robbins, Mark A.R. Kleiman, Amanda Feilding, Alex Berenson, Governor Jesse Ventura, Dr. Carl Hart, and the creators of the HBO show High Maintenance. Her work has appeared in Broadly, Weedmaps, Alternet, Civilized, PotGuide, Freedom Leaf, Marijuana Goes Mainstream, Hemp Connoisseur Magazine and many others. When she’s not working, Erin can be found wandering around one of New York City’s glorious parks while sipping an iced coffee, riding her bike along the Hudson River, or hiking up whatever hill is the closest and steepest. Proud member of the Actors Equity Association. You can follow her work on Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Muck Rack, and Instagram (but expect pictures of flowers and trees).
