Carl Hart
- Carl Hart is the Ziff Professor of Psychology in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at Columbia University. He is also a research scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Professor Hart has been awarded multiple competitive grants to conduct his research and has served on numerous influential scientific committees. He has published more than 100 scientific and popular articles in the area of neuropsychopharmacology. In 2014, he received the PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award for his book, High Price: A Neuroscientist's Journey of Self-Discovery. His most recent book, Drug Use for Grown-ups: Chasing Liberty in the Land of Fear, has changed the national conversation about drug use.
